MAGNETRAP

The Magnetrap traps engine damaging metal particles and impurities and confines them to the inner wall of the oil filter canister away from the flow of oil. It works by magnetically removing ferrous particles keeping your oil cleaner and reduces abrasions caused by friction. The results are a cleaner oil and longer-lasting engine.

Each Magnetrap kit comes in a universal size that fits most vehicles. Easy to install with no special tools or training required.

Each kit contains :

  • 1 Magnetrap applicable for one vehicle

  • Net weight : 100g

  • Fit most vehicles (ie. Racing cars, trucks/buses, motorcars, sedan cars, and motorboats)

  • 1 years warranty or 30,000km

THE PROBLEM WITH OIL FILTERS

The engine oil filter is made to filter abrasive elements and foreign particles. Unfortunately, the greater the efficiency of the filter, the lower the flow rate of oil. If the filter is made to filter all particles, the engine will suffer from lubrication starvation. Ferrous particles is the number one cause of premature engine wear. Ferrous particles can go to sizes below 15 microns. The smaller the particle size, the more the damage it produces because it can go between bearings and seals. Thus, this will increase engine wear. Magnetrap Super 5, 6 & 7 is made to complement the function of oil filters to increase its efficiency by removing this abrasive ferrous particles.

FERROUS PARTICLES

Ferrous particles come from the abrasion between all steel parts of the engine, such as Piston rings, Crank Shaft, Bearings, Cam Shafts and etc.

The ferrous shavings are then lifted into the oil and it is circulated through out the engine. This abrasive particles will in turn cause more wear to the engine.

A study by Cummings(Reference??) have found that particles smaller than 25 micron does 3 times the amount of wear compared to larger particles.

HOW MAGNETRAP WORKS

  • Contaminated oil enters the oil filter

  • Magnetrap separates the ferrous particles from oil and traps it on the oil filter casing

  • The ferrous free oil then passes through the standard filter elements

  • Magnetrap keeps the ferrous particles trapped until it is thrown away together with the oil filter during your next car service

How it works
Installation

INSTALLATION

Step 1:
- Install Magnetrap on a new oil filter preferably during your next service
- IMPORTANT: DO NOT REMOVE THE OIL FILTER IF IT IS STILL ATTACHED TO
  THE CAR

Step 2:
- The Magnetrap is designed to expand and can be adjusted to fit oil filters of
  different sizes
- Expand accordingly to the size of your oil filter

Step 3:
- Insert Magnetrap onto the oil filter and let the magnet snap onto the filter
- Place Magnetrap anywhere from top to the bottom of the base oil filter

Step 4:
- Insert the oil filter into the car and your installation is done
